March 2, 2024 - Amazing. Brown on the rim, and you feel the age. Complex and velvety. On day two some of the energy is done, but I guess it has still many years left.

July 31, 2023 - Cellar stored since release. Rusty red in the glass after 90-minute decant and offering lots of earthy and herbal notes joined by black fruits. Lovely, satisfying finish. California meets the Rhone, with a slight edge to California. Methinks this is in its prime, and I’ll likely wait only another year before uncorking my last bottle of this vintage. Worth Seeking Out.

April 30, 2023 - One of the few reds that even young children enjoy to smell.

The colour of my pour was dark rusty brown. It eluded leather, berries and sweet spices in the nose. The palate was deep and soothingly persistent, showing layers of fruit followed by a peppery performance. That black pepper can be overpowering in absence of staunch food. Great balance between acidity, tannins and fruit. No perturbances of warmth or excessive alcohol: this wine almost had a cooling expression!

It was too powerful for our high-fat steaks but it paired perfectly with brined olives. I found the peppery finish somewhat of a downturn from the wonderful fruit. Perhaps a better food pairing would have corrected that.

Bought in 2014 for $95 (pre-discount) on property and stored at constant 54’F. Probably has a decade or two before it mellows out.

February 18, 2023 - wonderful, held on just fine. Clean nose, some fruit, still prefer Chateau Beaucastel, but this should make Paso proud. Enjoy this winery.

January 1, 2023 - Delicious GSM. Honestly, I like it much more than the Beaucastel version from sister winery in France.
