Community Tasting Notes 10

May 17, 2023 - Black and red cherry, nicely combining fresh and mature character. Still firm, but the finish is slightly austere. Last bottle in 2018 was better.

April 23, 2023 - Consistent with previous note. Surprisingly, there was a small hint of brett immediately after opening, which blew off quickly.

March 6, 2022 - Forest floor, mushroom, red berry fruit on the nose. In the mouth, flavours of damp earth, cola, dark cherry. Medium finish. Very lovely, this is drinking very well at the moment. It will probably hold up for a good number of years.

October 22, 2021 - Dark nearly opaque ruby. Nose of dark raspberry, violets, earth, damp cellar. Layers of viscous red berry fruit cut with plum, earth, and anise on the palate. Vibrant acidity and firm tannin. Longer finish of chiming raspberry fruit, plum, and earth. BYO at the dining room of Death Valley Inn.

June 18, 2021 - Barely translucent ruby with scarlet at the edges. Nose of violets, searing berry, cinnamon, brambles, light earth. Tart and tangy raspberry and dark cherry fruit on the palate cut with iron, brier, and stony earth. Copious acidity and firmer tannin leading to a long finish of pure cherry and black raspberry overlying a foundation of stone and ferric particles. Absolutely delicious with grilled King salmon.
