Formerly this wine was labeled as Malvaxia Reserve Passito.
Critic tasting note: "To make this luscious wine, Muscat Ottonel and the hybrid Vidal Blanc are air dried on open racks, causing the grapes to raisin, concentrating their sugars. The result is a decadent wine with expressive aromas of apricot purée, tea and baking spice, plus a drizzle of caramel. It feels opulent and weighty, with a wash of zesty acidity and a zing of tangerine on the finish." - 89/100, Wine Enthusiast

Moscato Ottonel and Vidal grapes are harvested young, to capture the fruit’s acidity, and in a traditional Passito method, allowed to air dry and raisinize on racks open to outdoor ventilation for months, concentrating flavors and sugars. A lengthy fermentation is induced naturally in older barriques, where aging continues for another year, in protracted lees contact, continuously stirred.

- Producer Tasting Notes
-
Densely golden and amber, commonly the image of older white wines, transparently luscious to the eye; creamy texture visible and lush on the palate. Intense bouquet of tropical fruits, including apricot and pineapple, pear, honey and almond. Hints of evolving into age, through skilled structuring in the winery. A firm foundation of alcohol and sugar assures long palate and shelf life.

For France and much of Europe, conditions were mostly defined by a dull spring punctuated by an unseasonably sizzling April followed by a drab summer. For France, this topsy-turvy growing season made life difficult for Bordeaux, whose resulting wines were mostly average, br...
