January 21, 2024 - Dark color. Earthy aromas of ripe strawberries, forest floor and leather. Broad shouldered and quite tannic for the age. Has lost some fruit and feels more tired than a bottle tasted a few years ago. Maybe not an optimal bottle.

June 16, 2023 - Dpuble decanted ahead of dinner. Very earthy nose with some florals. On palate. Black and red cranberry, red raspberry, medium ripe strawberry. Very Earthy NSG.. some call it dirty burgundy, but I love drinking that dirt! 13.5%. Very drying austerity on the finish that asks for another 5-10 years to resolve. 93/94

May 27, 2023 - Vertical/Horizontal Tasting of Chevillon Nuits St. Georges Premier Crus (San Francisco): Dull garnet. Mostly menthol on the nose. Medium weight, some sap and sweetness and immediately more fruit than any of the 2013's. Fluid, fairly supple, lively acidity, riper tannins and good length. Elegant but lacks some focus and punch.

By the next evening, it had blossomed much sweeter red fruit and a squeeze of orange peel. Lovely now.

February 7, 2023 - Stellar. First bottle of case bought on release. I have drunk a lot of Chevillon, multiple different 1er cru from the ‘02 onwards and this is the best yet. All secondary rather than tertiary. Haunting aromatics and a peacocks tail finish. None of the rusticity of nuits. Glorious now. So good now, it will change but unlikely to improve. Though would easily last another decade.

November 26, 2022 - Floral aromatics, structured but balanced.
