Community Tasting Notes 8

May 4, 2014 - a year later; a big difference in this wine right out of the bottle it put a smile on my face still of short/medium finish but has developed a body nicely NOW I am sorry that I only bought two, who knows what next year would have brought

June 10, 2013 - color of an American Pinot Noir, tastes of red berries and not much more. It has aired for 90 minutes in the glass and had yet to develop. Shortish finish, a pity really as the reviews of the 2008 are awesome , I have one more bottle to open, I may give it a year and try again, this time when I have a hunter stew on the stove and it calls for a red wine

October 1, 2011 - Ruby red in color. The nose is muted, but it is bursting with red cherry, dried raspberry and subtle spicy notes. Very well balanced with enough tannins to provide solid structure. Great value.

March 15, 2011 - Rioja Dinner (My Little Spanish Place): I liked this. A touch of modern oak on the nose framed otherwise classic Tempranillo scents of plums, berries and some strawberries undergirderd by lots of earthy herb notes. A touch of varnish and incense hung about there somewhere too, but it was all in all very warmly welcoming on the nose. The palate had a velvety feel, with fine, slightly prickly tannins, a bit of spice and what seemed to be cooler, more high-toned fruits than on the nose, with fresh red cherries, dates maybe, all floating along at the top of the palate. It lacked a bit of depth on the mid-palate and some oomph throught, but the wine was always very pretty and perfumy and ever so fresh. A real charmer. The finish was actually surprising long, floating away with fresh red fruit tones and a hint of florals.
