July 11, 2014 - Para minha surpresa estava formidavelmente evoluído em relação ao primeiro.. Complexo, intenso, inicialmente redutivo e, após um pouco de ar, apareceram notas de especiarias, ervas, couro de cela e talvez algo de pelo de animal, tendo um belo fundo mineral.. Equilibrado, elegante, com fino sabor especiado, um toque picante e uma acidez não mais que bem suficiente.. Uma garrafa em pleno auge! Mas com certa suspeita de declínio à espreita.
May 3, 2014 - Mid garnet; hickory woodsmoke, fresh red fruits; clean, crunchy fruit, good backbone; crisp feel on an extended finish, with vigour. Time in hand.
October 30, 2013 - Bright red fruit nose, cranberries and pomegranate. Great depth and balance of pure red fruit, dried red cherries, soft dried herbs and a hint of cedar. Overall a great value wine...
June 26, 2013 - 100% Sangiovese. 14% abv. Bela cor cereja escura. Nariz ainda ligeiramente fechado e com discreta sobra de álcool, embora agradável, com fruta pura e bom frescor, tendo um mix de cerejas, ervas finas, um ótimo toque de mineralidade de solos calcários e uma sugestão de terra. Paladar fresco, seco, de corpo médio, com sabor de cerejas azedas, revelando uma leve tanicidade, tendo sutil amargor e um toque salgado. Ainda um pouco novo. Melhorou consideravelmente ao respirar em decanter por mais de 1h, mas creio que realmente ainda mereça pelo menos mais 1 ou 2 anos de adega.

June 30, 2012 - Tuscany Sangiovese tasting (Prince Wine Store - Bank Street): Beautiful sweet fruit on the nose with smokey oak and soft spices. The palette is silky and sleek with a fine, balanced texture.

March 23, 2012 - A definite liquorice note to nose; tannins to fore ( a fellow drinker described as rasping) pure , fresh; taut structured finish. Very long. Will leave alone for 12+ months.
January 19, 2012 - Deep, dry and delicious nose of blackberry, sour cherry, smoke and a hint of leather. Medium bodied with hard core acidity and polished, mouth drying tannins. Typical flavor profile of sour cherry, licorice and minerals. Lots of pure, bright fruit in a tight package that is not really trying to please the drinker. Excellent lift all the way, ending with a really dry finish. Someone just discovering Sangiovese might view this as harsh, which is how it should be, I think. Great traditional stuff.
