August 24, 2014 - See also previous note. In the bouquet the orange is dominating now. On the palate a full bodied yet elegant wine with apricots, good acidity and bitterness. A beautiful and elegant wine. Still youthful.

December 28, 2013 - Custard, saffron, creme brulee, saline in a sea air kind of way, apricot fruit. Plump and tasty.

October 22, 2013 - Cheese & Wine Tasting - Westchester Wine School (Auray Cheese Shop, Larchmont, NY): Drank at Ned tasting at Auray. Apricots and quince on the nose. Pretty amber color, not as dark as one might have expected. Apricots, ripe raisins and burnt orange on the palate, sweet with decent acidity level--I would have preferred more. The wine was pleasant enough and was enjoyed by all, but in my opinion not what it is in better vintages. I'm hoping for improvement with age. Great match with the French blue cheese (Fourme d'Ambert) served.

    October 13, 2013 - Nice amber color.

Nose of dried apricots, raisins, saffron and honey. Some hints of acetone, in a positive way

Palate of melon, sauvignon blanc nettles, very ripe yellow apples and raisins, with hints of saffron, vanilla and as the temperature rises, tobacco; all followed by a lovely spiciness. It's fairly well balanced, but acidity could be a bit higher without bothering me, and on occasion you can feel the 14% ABV kicking through.

May 26, 2013 - Somewhat simple. Possibly stored incorrectly prior to my acquisition. Honeyed white peach and tropical fruit. Sharp acidity. Not very complex.

(Chateau Suduiraut Sauternes) A bright and vibrant gold. Lovely honey aromas on an elegant nose. Vibrant and full of vivacity on the palate. Textured but elegant with plenty of botrytis. Sweet fruit with a toffee edge. Delicious. This is beginning to show some evolution but will improve for years yet.
