December 23, 2016 - With a long decant (double-decanted 4 hrs before consumption) this showed beautifully as the tannins and acidity have softened just enough to stay in balance with the lovely flavors of smoky black fruits, sweet tar and dark spices. Just a lovely fine complexity on the finish with notes of minerals and coal dust. Just hitting its stride I think.

December 28, 2011 - A traditional-styled Barolo that's lean and mean at this point (like most quality '96's) but loaded with deep black fruit and classic notes of tar and roses. Finishes spicy and complex with smooth but potent tannins that still need to be resolved. This is classy juice and should age beautifully and reall needs a few more years to show all it has. 93+
