August 5, 2020 - Very fruit forward, which isn’t surprising. I think I’m just looking for something a bit more balanced or nuanced nowadays.

April 6, 2020 - This has never been my favorite Sojourn bottling and age hadn’t helped this one. I’ve had some really nice surprises with Sojuorns in the 8-10 year window. But I think this one just lacked the acid and structure to age. Stewed black cherries with muted cola notes and brown spice. Very juicy. Still a good amount of fruit there. But just seems a little tired without the tannic or acid structure for it to hang on. Drink ‘em up!

May 18, 2018 - One of the better Sojourns I’ve had in a while. Showing really well. Fully integrated tenant. Bright red fruit with cherry and strawberry. Orange rind. Light baking spices. Balanced acidity with moderate finish.

May 8, 2018 - Popped and poured. Drank over 2 hours. ruby colored. vanilla, strawberry and a bit of tea on the nose. Palate shows ripe fruit, slightly sweet. The wine is polished. That said, it lacks real character and depth. Pleasant enough but that is about it. Would drink these over the short term.

April 18, 2017 - First time having this. First impression, I need to buy more. Very tasty, good balance. It reminds me of the Sojourn Sonoma Coast bottling, but with a more polished profile. Medium, super smooth and a cherry kiss at the end. Bravo!

May 7, 2016 - My first experience with the Rodger's Creek Vineyard site and I was quite impressed. Blackberry, black cherry and floral notes on the extremely pretty nose. Medium bodied and accessible within a half hour of opening but improved and evolved over the next two and a half hours. Started off with black cherry and black raspberry with hints of red fruit behind. However, the longer it was open, the more and more it became a berry show - a mix of blackberry and wildberry with brightness and excellent acidity. The mineral and acidity driven finish capped it all off with length, elegance and richness. This wine showed great fruit, but always in balance. Close to peak, but with some room for additional improvement; this wine should drink well for several more years. I will certainly be looking for this vineyard site in additional vintages from Sojourn.

April 15, 2016 - Beckett Tasting Group - Apr 2016: Light orange/red color with bricking around the edges. Best nose of the bunch, beautiful perfume and flowers. Red fruits, great earthiness balancing the fruit, silky smooth texture, and a wonderful long finish. This wine was really singing tonight and the bottle age has treated it well.
