Community Tasting Notes 2

July 11, 2008 - Wonderful aroma of vanilla and sweet oak. Was a little afraid, that this had seen better days, but popped and poured...everyone loved it. Pleasant, and really yummy...reminded me of a Beringer Private Reserve chard, at one tenth of the price! Refined and elegant, w/creamy finish.

    March 22, 2004 - Portfolio Ref # AUS D1
Setting: WSET Diploma / Mock Exam
Appearance: bright, medium+ intensity lemon yellow core - vibrant, almost no rim, higher viscosity
Nose: clean, higher intensity, oak aged, lemon notes, alcoholic heat
Palate: clean, dry, lemon, charred oak, mineral notes, acid is almost crisp with higher alcohol (13.8%?), very evident use of oak, full bodied with a long finish, balanced citrus fruit element, good balance
Comments: Blind tasting notes: California Chardonnay, Sonoma/Napa (higher appellation than just California), 2000 vintage that can keep for at least 3 more years, $20
Actual alcohol is 14.5% !!! actual price is $23.95
