January 28, 2023 - Decanted two hours. Over the course of a meal of eggplant Parmesan (another two hours) the wine improved steadily, from 92 to 94 to 96+. Rich, complex, with velvety chocolate notes galore—nutmeg, spice, raisin. At 17 years, this has entered its peak. Impressive. Glad I have more bottles.

October 7, 2019 - Medium red color. Aromas of dried fruits, licorice and bitter chocolate. Ripe and fully-integrated fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. Not a blockbuster but nicely full and juicy on the palate. This delicious wine is in its peak drinking period and an excellent value.
