  • Lype Likes this wine:

May 23, 2019 - Tropical fruit bouquet, on the palate white flowers, peach and tropical fruit, also minerality and hints or scratched match, flavours of artificial sweeteners, lowish acidity but the nice fruitiness keeps this bubbly together well, clearly a strong vintage for this one

December 22, 2018 - Superb sparkling wine. Champagne style and length. Complexity. Classy. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with more character from the former. Worth seeking out; a bargain.

June 10, 2018 - great acidity and freshness. Hard to believe this is 100% Pinot Noir.

June 9, 2018 - Champagne style sparkling wines, tasted blind: During a tasting dinner. Lovely, fruity, some flowers, white fruit.

June 6, 2017 - Bruno Giacosa Dinner (Marchesa Private Dining - Chicago IL): Ripe apple with red berries and toasted almonds. Balanced with enough acidity for brightness. Good, even if somewhat simple.

(Bruno Giacosa Spumante Extra Brut) Light golden yellow color with abundant, stately, tiny bubbles; appealing, yeasty, lifted, chalk, dried apple nose; tasty, rich, autolytic, quite dry, dried pear, bread dough, chalk palate with medium acidity; medium-plus finish (100% Pinot Noir, no malo, 38-40 months on lees) 91+ points
