February 10, 2016 - Solid. Unremarkable. Still a lot of tannic grip on day two. Better after more aging? Maybe.

June 6, 2015 - This didn't get as much air as it needed; opened at a restaurant. Tight, focused ripe raspberry, pepper, and stone flavors. Plenty of intensity and structure on the finish. I wouldn't touch this again for 5 yrs.

April 17, 2015 - Deep somewhat opaque dark red color. Aromas of blackberries, licorice and wood spices. Dense, ripe fruit in the mouth with excellent depth and length. As the wine is a bit young, the oak and tannins are still a bit unresolved. Excellent texture on the palate. A great value that should improve with a few more years of bottle age.

December 8, 2014 - Checking back in on this stalwart and rustic offering. Still tightly wound overall, but a little more rounded. The bouquet and palate feature blackberry, violets, meatiness, tar, iodine, savory, crushed black rocks, coal, and ores. Screaming acid and serious tannic grip. Nicely balanced, with a long fork and knife finish. Should drink well through 2020-2022.

May 18, 2014 - This is an excellent example of rustic Gigondas, nothing flamboyant. Austere, rocks, minerals, and huge grip. Drank over two days. The attack is powerful and the back features tremendous grip. Came away with the impression that the mid range is not as developed as it should be though. It's not at all hollow, it just doesn't quite match the rest of the wine. A whole lot of wine that is not quite integrated at present, but hopefully will with time. The wine is structured and dense; it should age for ten or more years and there's potential for an additional point or two. 92-93.2 people found this helpful Comment
