December 15, 2023 - Red and dark fruit, with some damp earth and spice. A bit rustic, but has some length and complexity. Ready now, but no rush.

March 24, 2023 - Drunk in SoCal. Med red to mahogany. Some bottle stink so I decanted, which helped. Nose has ripe cherry, sour cherry. There is ripe cherry, raspberry, athletic frame ( ie flesh and solid structure), very lively. Very good concentration and good length. These wines just age faster in this hot climate.

December 12, 2022 - Structured, tight, dark(ish) fruit, very well put together but not showing a lot on day 1. On day 2 this has really opened up nicely, with some spice and florals. Very enjoyable, but IMHO this needs at least another five years. Very good, but too early.

May 11, 2022 - Tangy red berries, menthol and red licorice. Slight orange liqueur aroma. I am enjoying this, and I think there is more upside.

March 29, 2022 - dark red, nose of dark berries and plum, smoke. This feels bigger than it tastes, ofr perhaps the flavour concentration is light for all the weight, tannin, acid, and alcohol. We enjoyed it, for sure, but suspect the next bottle will be better.

January 20, 2022 - 2010 Pavelot 1er Cru: Aux Guettes vs Aux Gravains: Two very good wines. The Aux Guettes has a nice austerity and makes a great dinner wine if you're looking for something cleansing, classic, and desirable, but not a specific contributor to the flavor profile of the meal itself; it's got nice energy and balance with fully melded berries, earth, quiet minerality, and acidity; the fine gravelly sense remains but has smoothed out considerably.

The Aux Gravains is a little riper, wilder, spicier, more saline, and more structured; it's not as well balanced (as the Guettes) but offers more personality.

Each wine finishes short though the Gravains offers a bit more on the tail. Each undoubtedly has four+ years of continued great drinking ahead -2025.
