January 25, 2015 - Decanted for 1 hour and served with grilled chicken breasts. Dark red color. Raspberry, red licorice, garrigue & floral notes on nose. Similar palate ex. floral. Medium+ body, silky palate feel and tannis / acidity match the bright fruit. All too easy to drink a whole bottle. Preferred this to an '09 Close des Pape CDP that I had last night (probably not fair given different glassware and setting). Drank great tonight and will age for years. 93++ Top 5 value in my cellar. Hopefully the general public doesn't catch on to Gigondas vs. CDP.

January 2, 2015 - Delicious. Decanted (no solids) and let rest for a while. Smells and tastes of dark cherries, plums, and other red fruit with some spice elements. Very persistent mouth feel. Really great with food or on its own.

September 22, 2014 - Ripe red berry fruits and cassis in the expressive bouquet. Good garrigue as well. On the palate a juicy wine with ripe fruits, good herbs and spices, a firm amount of sweetness and also good acidity. Beautiful tannin. The wine is in its early maturity stage now and already a great pleasure. Keeping this until 2019+ will be no problem.

September 15, 2014 - I was excited to try this wine based on professional and CT reviews and was incredibly disappointed. Even my wife, drinking blind (just a glass of wine in her hand) was not impressed in the least.
PnP, decanted and drank over 2.5 hrs. This did open up over time and was much better with food than without, but overall was bland and boring.
Early on I actually thought this might be corked, but my (far better nose than me) wife dismissed that thought, and when I came back to the wine later I agreed.
Nondescript fruit on the nose, med acid, mild/moderate tannins.
I have 1 bottle remaining, so I hope this was just bottle variation. I'd also recommend decanting 3+ hrs prior to drinking, and hoping for the best.
