Community Tasting Notes 91

March 22, 2017 - Drank over three days, from Burgundy stems. The bouquet offers layered perfume of muddled thick petal flowers, potpourri, berry compote, coco powder, pepper, herbs, molasses, fennel, shallot, smoke dried prune, dried fig, cured meats, tar, rusted iron, red loam, schist, black sand, and ores. It tastes like it smells, in mind-bending layers. Phenomenal depth, balance, and structure. Overall, it put my mind to what the same vintage Janasse Vieilles Vignes might become in time. The wine has added weight and roundness during the last two years. In a word, profound! It belongs in a double-blind flight of highly regarded $100+ Chateauneuf-du-Pape, and might come out on top!!! Try it!

March 3, 2017 - Still quite young. On the nose deep red fruits, oak, leather. On the palette still lots of fruit, nice acidity and dusty tannins. Very nice QPR. This is already in a good spot, I would give this some more time in bottle though. Revisit in 1 to 2 years.

Extra addition: oh boy! give this baby air!!!! From 93pt to 94pt

March 2, 2017 - Bright red fruit and bramble on the nose. The fruit comes across on the palate as well with plenty of structure. Hold for a few more years.

December 24, 2016 - Decanted for 1.5 hours. Wheat germ on the finish. Lacking fruit. A little disappointing.

November 20, 2016 - Nose of dark fruit, earth. Additional dark fruit on the palate, along with hints of eucalyptus and leather. Well balanced. Drinking beautifully out of the bottle.
