January 14, 2017 - Pretty deep ruby color. Aromatically slightly muted but opening up a little in the glass. Super beautiful notes of raspberries, strawberries, rose petals, a touch of tobacco, chocolate, some leather, almost saline minerality, super perfumed. It's medium-full bodied but almost weightless at the same time, has medium-high acidity and medium-high tannin that is present but incredibly silky. Long and super complex finish. An insanely beautiful Gavarini from this fantastic vintage. This wine has been breath-taking every single time I have had it over the last years.

December 8, 2016 - Decanted two hours. A bit tight, but coming around with nice nose and excellent palate. Tannins still a bit obtrusive, but plenty of fruit to absorb those going forward. Good acidity, nice depth and developing panache. Excellent with the potential to improve.

April 12, 2016 - Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium-plus expressiveness, black cherry, black berry, blueberry, rose petal, coriander, and bacon fat - complex and ever changing. Palate: Medium bodied, spice driven dark red fruit attack, big tannic grip through the mid-palate, sweet fruit persists but there is plenty of acid to balance it out, builds intensity through the back-end where gamey and earthy notes join the flavor party. Finish: Lengthy sense of a cornucopia of flavors - fruit, spice, earth, and steak tartare. An exceptional wine that lives up to Galloni's accolades, still very youthful - likely 10+ years to open of prime drinking window.

November 22, 2015 - Round and smooth for it's age, but still with lively tannins. A lovely set of secondary and tertiary flavors. This will improve for years.

September 24, 2015 - Pretty closed at the moment. Less perfumed than the last bottle. But nice cherries, raspberries, some flowers, etc. it's medium bodied with high acidity, pretty high tannin. Good length. A little closed at this stage but full of potential.
Day 2: Showing even better but also more structured and fuller bodied. Originally rated 95 but on day 2 significantly better.
