October 7, 2014 - Decanted for 24 hours in advance of a big name Nebbiolo tasting. This is a terrific wine. It was smooth and round. Cedar on the nose. Firm on the palate and a lengthy finish. Dark red fruits. I am looking forward to letting the rest of the bottles age.

December 31, 2013 - Very fruity nose, cherries, redcurrants, candy apple maybe, violets

All that fruit was there, delicious mouth feel, smooth rather than firm tannins
I really loved this wine on it's own, but it seemed a bit over the top fruity after two young Barbarescos and a Brunello. I will come back to this again and check it.

Nesten i hvert fall. 93p.

November 14, 2013 - OC Tasting Group Does Blind Wines @ Playground (Playground in Downtown Santa Ana): This reminded some of the way the 2003 Lopez de Heredia came off, with the tight profile and lean astringence. Like that wine, this one showed a more restrained profile and balance. Not sure what to make of these Italian wines, as I just don't have the stripes to be able to call them out yet.

November 2, 2013 - Medium body, deep ruby color, raspberry, strawberry, black tea. Vibrant wine but IMHO a bit out of balance and overly acidic. Tannins don't hold up to acidity like a great Barolo should. Should calm down with more time in the bottle. Definitely wasn't a mid 90's scoring wine for me.
