August 3, 2016 - Decanted for an hour. Deep purple color, blackberry and blueberry with eucalyptus on the nose. Big body full of black and blue berry. Just enough acidity to lighten up such a big wine. Well integrated tannins. Good 30 second finish.

July 4, 2016 - Wonderfully rich and intense black berry and pepper on the nose and palate with refreshing acidity and peppery spice on the long finish.

May 15, 2016 - Finished the bottle previously opened by Coravin. Dark purple almost black. Terrific black cherry Dr Pepper flavors with soft tannins, nice acidity, balanced and long finish. Extremely well made Petite Sirah! Wish I had more!

March 18, 2016 - OK, this was so tannic as to be unpleasant for the first hour in the decanter. After about 1.5 hours it started to sing. Terrific wine that will only get better with more age.

March 16, 2016 - I opened this bottle tonight, thinking I was opening my '04 bottle. The color is opaque purple, with perhaps a little bricking. It was heavily sedimented, leaving lots of sediment behind in the bottle and the filter of my decanter The nose was almost nonexistent- all I could smell was alcohol. On the palette, the fruit was subdued and there's an extremely tart acidity- too tart to the point of tasting harsh and artificial. Its been decanting an hour and doesn't seem to be improving. I went ahead and opened the '04 bottle and already its much more promising than this one. I'm guessing this was not as good a year. I'll update if further decanting improves this one.
