March 6, 2014 - Needs an hour to two decant currently.

October 20, 2012 - Great from the outset with delicate classic pinot aromas. Not decanted, drank it over the course of 3-4 hours. Had it blind in a group of 8 pinots including KB RRV, Flowers Sonoma Coast, and a well-known Oregon producer (Archery Summit?) that was rather nondescript and forgettable; the other 4 wines were under $20 and tasted like it. The Lato was a runaway winner on first pour and even more so as the evening progressed. Finely balanced fruit, acidity, and alcohol. Oak well-integrated and not prominent but I am rather insensitive to oakiness. One of the finest pinots of the year for me. The cost is getting up there but every time I drink a Paul Lato wine I regret not buying more.
