April 26, 2017 - Really deep purple color. This bottle never really seemed to open up for me - remained a bit acidic over the course of a couple of days, fruit never really made its way forward. Will wait on next bottle for a few years.
December 25, 2016 - Very good, but needs at least 5 more years in the cellar. Lots of great primary fruit and spices.
December 7, 2016 - 2009 (Mostly) Napa & St. Julien Vintage Tasting (Lincoln Square Steaks, NYC): I always love the "One Point Five" but I'm "only" giving it 91 points this time. It seemed a touch less impressive than 4 other 2009s my group had alongside it. I'm sure if it was the only wine of the night, I would have scored it higher.
November 24, 2016 - Arrrggghhh!!! Completely inappropriate for Thanksgiving! What a waste. Two more left...
September 18, 2016 - - Garnet color. It's balanced with a full body. Bright texture with a long finish - Wow... rich in flavors, smooth fruit/ berries with a hint of vanilla. Long finish.
July 16, 2016 - Deliciously smooth.
December 24, 2015 - Opened, not decanted, for two hours.
The wine looks inky colored. It smells like red currant, blackberry, stoniness and espresso. It tastes like chocolate. The body is medium/full. The wine finishes medium.
November 4, 2015 - Dark fruits, chocolate and smooth tannins. Very opulent with noticeable alcohol. Overall a nice wine but I need to be in the mood for such bold wine.
October 18, 2015 - Has matured nicely. Better than I remember for previous bottles of this vintage.
May 4, 2015 - Really good for the money. Not as good as the others. This had dark rich black fruit but that really is where it started to fall off from the others. Where you could taste the pencil shavings and touch of graphite the others had a medley of secondary flavors and aromas. This was completely solid though just not in the company of the others.
