October 2, 2016 - from memory... real fun wine. good acidity, presence in the mouth and great balance of fruit, structure and beginning of secondary flavors

February 29, 2016 - Drinking very well currently; The nose has lovely tones of dark fruits, olive tapenade and pepper, while the palate is fairly concentrated but with excellent acidity and balance; An hour of air definitely wakens this up, suggesting this will improve over the next 5+ years

February 6, 2016 - Served with steak au poivre. Decanted 1 hour. Lovely to look at, breathe in and sip. Rich dark purple in glass, as Mzimberg noted. Nose brings pepper, earth, layered fresh red and purple fruits with aged backdrop. Pnwskibum described this well. Continued to open and deepen during meal. Very nice on palate, from front to back with length and effortless tannin. I was particularly struck by how it evolved in the mouth in this way. Layered with fruit, earth, herbs. Simultaneously deep and fresh. Drinking very well. Was perfect with the steak & sauce--thoroughly enjoyable and delightfully intoxicating complement to the meal.
