December 2, 2016 - Consumed over 2 days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, black cherry, pine needles, black pepper, earth, and Asian spice. Palate: Medium bodied, excellent balance and mouth-feel, black cherry and Asian spice attack, good mid-palate persistence, spice driven lift in the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by black cherry, earth, and spice. Definitely drinking near it's peak at the moment showing great balance from front to back.

November 14, 2016 - A bit improved from a year back, the fruit is slightly deeper and the secondary notes are more pronounced. Very pretty mix of fruit on the nose - strawberries to start but the fruit turned darker with some air. High-tone red fruit across the palate, adding notes of bergamot tea, cinnamon and spice. Pleasantly acidic but the edges are still soft. Very enjoyable.

May 8, 2016 - elegant pinot, low end for Sotor, but not low end!, controlled fruit, good backbone, great complement to quiche and asparagus dinner

December 25, 2015 - Consistent with a few weeks back. Red fruits - raspberries and cranberry notes - against black tea. Little green funk too. Slightly tart, nice acidity.

December 8, 2015 - Punchy red fruits, cherry and raspberry, though the wine trends slightly deeper pulling in notes of plum as it lingers on the palate. I picked up notes of ceylon tea and an almost bitter, but pleasant funk through the finish. Nice acid. The wine is well made so no rush to drink, but there it isn't evolving further either. I gave it a 30 minute splash decant to wake it up, but not sure it needed that much. Simple and drinkable.

July 19, 2014 - Searching for something pithy or insightful to say. Call me lazy today, or possibly I was uninspired by this wine from last night.

Quite drinkable, as they say. Light body, with red fruit, a little smoke, and moderate alcohol. Similar in style to what I've been sampling in Burgundy of late, but not as impressive. Decent QPR, but there are other pinots I'd buy at this price.

May 21, 2014 - Consumed over 5 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, black cherry, pine resin, and cigar tobacco. Palate: Medium bodied, black cherry attack - a little sweetness up front which is a bit surprising considering the nose characteristics, good balance, with nice mid-palate lift, though the back-end thins out pretty quickly. A nice interesting and enjoyable effort.

July 17, 2013 - Nice Oregon style, dusty light tannins, sour cherry. Very light pepper/earth in there. Good food wine with acidity.
