April 12, 2023 - Erik's. Medium gold, nose of apple sauce, persimmon and light petrol. On the palate, a bit sweet for a Sec but overall a good showing.

February 4, 2022 - This has come a long way from the bottle tasted in 2017. Less flamboyant and waxy. Color remains golden yet the nose is more geared toward ripe stone fruit. Grape skin. Palate is together and on the maturity plateau. Nicely intense, it ever so slightly tickles the tongue. Yellow plum fruit with excellent acidity. This is lovely and should remain so for years. (92)

September 29, 2021 - Holding beautiful with plenty of honeycomb, flowers, wool and wax. Sharp of the palate with piercing citrus fruit and good weight. Just a touch of sharp acids.

May 9, 2021 - This second and last bottle of mine was clearly better than the first. Just perfectly integrated, sinewey and almost fat, harmony all the way. Aromas of wet dog, baked citrus and honey. In the mouth there's also a slightly more bitter element towards the end of the curve that might be called 'bonfire'. It does not detract from the total impression, in fact. Rather the opposite. A very satisfying wine.

May 17, 2020 - First bottle of Huet sec for me, and it lives up to all the hype. Opened and poured out some almost immediately for a drink before dinner, then more with dinner (Szechuan pork noodles) and a little kept until the next day. Outstanding at all points. Has a slightly heavier feeling in the mouth than other chenin blancs but not unpleasant. My first impression was sweetness but then decided it was mainly fruit. The sweetness is there but subtle. Consumed at cellar temp, room temp by the end of the evening and this definitely optimized it for me.

May 12, 2020 - So I’ve decided that the sec Huets are probably best 3-6 years. At 9 years, however, this was a good bottle without the oxidation I often find in older whites. A slight hay tint to the wine, the nose is clean with upfront lemon and cinnamon notes. Round, oaky-Chardonnay like and grass notes with a very lemony finish that lingers. Blind may have been pegged as a Cali- Char and not Loire Chenin. Drink now/
