January 21, 2022 - Third of six. Here we go again, estimated Schlaepdog. Time is running and eight years on since I opened the first one. Quite solid purple colour. In this particular ocassion the nose showed direct and linear with notes of iron ore, blackberries, dry wood and mineral of anthracite. Basically repetitive, steady, continued. Let's talk about performance on the palate. Monolithic. Couldn't find those soft tannins anywhere. Seriously firm yet bored at the second sip. Once again much better with hearty food. Acid as usual. Long and slightly tannic finish. Couldn't find its supposed charm either.
Sorry Elisabetta if I am not really enthusiastic with this wine ... still :-) Good value? I agree that at 21€ ten years ago, it is not an expensive wine. C'est tout. Considering nowadays this wine cost around 60€, trading it's a good option IMHO. Vulgarity 'in excelsis' as the score reflects.

August 18, 2020 - wonderful dry soft tannin wine, still has a nice dusty, dark fruit.

November 27, 2019 - Lots of life left here as this wine was vigorous and youthful. Lip-smacking vibrant red/black fruits with a nice mineral laden fruit finish along with a slight saline note. Lingers so nicely on the tongue with notable, but not obtrusive tannin.

Just hitting its stride, this wine will easily go another 5 years before fading and possibly another 10 years. Fantastic QPR at $20 US dollars.

May 10, 2019 - Barnyard, dark fruits (cherries), earth, spices. Mouth: very juicy dark fruits, medium+ acidity, medium body, medium- tannins, medium+ earthy finish. Great QPR - 91 pt.
