June 24, 2023 - Powerful and dark plum and blackberry on the nose. Again very powerful on the palate with spicy blackberry jam, burning alcohol yet smooth soft and long. Sweet and spicy finish. A bit overpowering.
August 19, 2017 - Dark currant on nose, luscious full bodied fruit. PNP, smooth tannins, nice long finish. Has more time, but good now
May 19, 2017 - Possibly we held onto this for too long? Very one dimensional - huge coconut, fruit and heat - add rum and you may have an interesting drink.
August 22, 2016 - I know this used to be my style of wine but not really anymore. Its very flavorful and full but the 15.9% alcohol is overwhelming.

April 24, 2015 - Going from memory on the tasting notes. We had high expectations for the Orin Swift wine and were a bit let down. Pretty high alcohol content masked many of flavors that we like about Zin. Unless we hear that it has gotten better, there are better valued Zin's out there.
March 15, 2015 - Wow, what a mess. After an hour decant and another 30 mins in the glass, nose predominantly of heat and dark fruit. On the palate, the heat does not disappear. It's predominant with dark berries and oak behind it. Very short finish and completely unbalanced. This wine use to be a lot better, but it's definitely on the down slope. Drink up or give away to friends who know nothing about wine.
September 21, 2014 - A fantastic nose of spice and fruit. Some oak and dark cherries. Long taste of dark chocolate, apriot and cedar spice. This Zin is packed of thick flavors and with rather sweet notes.
should be kept in cellar for a few more years..
