March 11, 2013 - Back to what I had expected from this vintage. Nice, lightly smoked, good complexity. Medium finish.

June 23, 2012 - Slightly more acidic and peppery than I recall from my last bottle. Tight at first. Significantly improved +1 hour decanted.

June 8, 2012 - Currently my favorite moderate priced wine. Deep maroon color. Nice berry flavors but not too much. From reading, the Ripasso is produced by aging the corvina grapes on top of already pressed amarone pomaces. The result is a bold but very drinkable, enrichened wine blending some of the traits of amarone (at a significant cost savings to amarone). Started with 3 bottles and have just added several more and have also ordered an Amarone and Recioto to compare.

April 2, 2012 - Very good Ripasso ! Have never had wines from Bennati before, but now I know this small producer... Very dark beautiful color, outstanding nose and taste of dried cherries, bitter chocolate and a hint of vanilla. Aftertaste is medium length....
