June 12, 2021 - I normally really like this wine, but this bottle was flabby and way too Jammy.
December 13, 2019 - An aging fruit bomb but a good one! Typical Aussie Shiraz nose - sweet, vegatal but blows off. Otherwise cherries, dark fruit, cedar, mushrooms. Fruity palate with some alcohol burn. Wine very well preserved, no sediment. Though my taste has changef I am finding some of these old SA reds much better than expected.
July 8, 2018 - BBQ at our house. No formal notes. There is no doubt that this wine is in its perfect spot. Very mellow, with good complexity and concentration. That said, it is just way too jammy for my liking to be enjoyable. I respect the effort and the quality put into bottle, but this is like spooning stewed fruit on top of liquid chocolate. Very good quality, just nothing I can derive any pleasure from.
September 1, 2015 - Blueberry and raspberry, very concentrated, still going
May 17, 2015 - Nose of dark fruits, cedar, some tobacco.
Right into the mouth there's something weird and off putting.
Is this sweet? Just too much fruit and chocolate, with the jam being a tad too ripe. Hard work...
March 20, 2015 - From Magnum. Showed well over 4 hours. Smooth with overripe and slightly jammy black and blue fruits. But more than just a fruit bomb. Some cassis, tobacco, leather, sweet Oak and hints of spice.
February 27, 2015 - It’s been nearly six years since the last bottle of this wine and I wonder if it has been too long. No that the wine is dying but this is still a sweet fruit driven wine and I was hoping for little more complexity and more acidity. This bottle did not show me the complexity others seem to be finding.

August 10, 2013 - Deep dark-red, velvet. Intense, vibrant and deep!
Aromas of dark ripe Berries; mostly Blackberry and Cassis.
Earth, Black Tea, Dark Chocolate and Tar.
Little Floral characters come with some Sweetness, Eucalypt and Oak.
Comforting, soft and inviting!
Beautifully integrated with fascinating secondary characteristics.
Decent Fruit flavors- mostly Dark Berries- with Fruit in Rum.
Earthiness, Tobacco, Dark Chocolate and Leather.
Finishes long with vivid acidity, round tannins, some fruit and little spiciness.
Nice texture and mouthfeel. Great proportions and complexity!
A full-bodied, delicious and wonderful wine that really fits!
Great sophisticated complexity, harmony, concentration and balance.
Rich, but filigree aromas and flavors.
Should be good for some more years of careful cellaring, but drinks beautifully now.

June 29, 2013 - Excellent. Subtle earthiness and still powerful fruit. Amazing how this wine has changed over the years. Going strong with years of life ahead of it. Delicious
