January 29, 2021 - Excellent condition albeit nearly still. Retains acidity, fine texture.
December 4, 2018 - Wine Workshop: An evening with Cristal (Atera - 77 Worth Street in NYC): Yum yum yum. Real contender for WOTN. Perhaps just because I enjoy the old stuff although what surprised me is this tasted much younger than some of the bottles from the 80's. Still quite fresh. Lots of apples and pears and some sweet. A bit nutty. Maybe a touch yeasty. Very nice.
June 1, 2017 - Very mature oxidized notes with ripe flavors of orange/apricot and a lovely sweetness and depth. Plenty of mousse and acidity left here. A really satisfying aged Champagne.
May 30, 2017 - Light oxidation on the nose, but holding together well. Sweet apple and apricot palate. Moderate complexity but this is showing well for its age with life still left.
May 12, 2017 - World's Greatest - Night II (Daniel): Interestingly the nose on the '76 is the freshest of the flight ('82, '79, '76) and has flowers and white peach in addition to the developed caramel tones. Fresh nectarine and mandarin on the palate. Bright and juicy. Curiously this is showing younger than both '82 and '79. This is the wine I would want to buy out of all of these, if this is indicative, but this is likely a great bottle. Big mouthful of juicy white peach. Mmm.
May 12, 2017 - Golden creaminess. A younger bottle than the '82 or '79 and had not yet developed its full character.
January 15, 2015 - From magnum. My WOTN in a major lineup.
September 13, 2011 - A gorgeous bottle of 76 Cristal. So young, fresh, and by far the wine of the night. Serious lumber.
August 1, 2008 - Really good, could still age further
