September 7, 2016 - Decanted for 30 minutes. Light and fruity, medium bodied a little tannin in the finish. Simple but good.
January 19, 2014 - Medium purple in color, this wine revealed exotic spices, jammy black cherry, ripe plum and loamy aromas on the nose. The mouth feel was surprisingly only medium bodied and brought briery elements in addition to the somewhat sweet fruits and glycerin. The finish was medium and the low acidity, combined with the abundant, sweet fruits, made this wine an overall nice one.
At $14US, this was a good value. I notched my score down a few points as the wine came across as a little thin. It was not the bold style I expect from zins, especially those from Dry Creek Valley.
October 10, 2013 - Not very heavy but definitely had a little saltiness which was the most I have experienced out of this wine over the last several vintages. Overall pretty neutral on this one.
September 2, 2013 - Light in color for a DCV Zin. Dark raspberry and spice on the palate. Short finish.
May 28, 2013 - Same score, but this bottle was much better. Lacks the pepper and punch of a zin, but its a descent weekday drinker.
May 12, 2013 - A rather non-descript, every day drinking wine. Not bad, but for the price there are much better.
April 14, 2013 - Not offensive, but not great. Easy drinking but nothing about stands out
January 31, 2013 - Good everyday wine. Light red zenfandel. It went well with pasta and freah meat sauce.
August 5, 2012 - Nice somewhat fruity but balanced bottle. Enjoyable. Light in the mouth.
July 4, 2012 - Not a bad red wine for everyday drinking or as a glass with dinner, the problem I have with it is that you can't identify it as a zinfandel.
