June 5, 2016 - More 07 domestic Pinot investigation. During my posting hiatus I drank thru the portfolio and liked them, so... No question I like this much better than the Rochioli SVDs recently tasted. And, my recollection is I like the Cuvee Catherine bottling more. Thick fruit, a little goopy, almost too much. Me thinks I've held these too long as well. Jane thought the wine collapsed after 30 minutes. I disagreed, and followed it in the glass over 4 hours. I'll check out the CC and Cuvee Natalie soon. Drink up.

May 14, 2016 - Really enjoyed this. Typical of the Kistler Pinot's from that time, big and fruit forward. Sometimes its hard to believe that the these are actually Pinot Noirs! Stylistically its as far from Burgundy as the actual miles from California to France! But it has its time and place.

April 16, 2016 - "Muddled, stewed" from a recent CT note are accurate, I would add raisiny, overripe, port like, great fruit but tastes like a zin rather than a Pinot. Disappointing as I just had an '09 and it was glorious. Addendum: next night tried another glass, and it was undrinkable, just a disappointing bottle.

April 12, 2016 - Deep purple/red color. Savory aromas of black fruits, violets, underbrush and wood spices. Ripe, full-bodied, brooding fruit in the mouth with outstanding depth and length and fully-integrated oak and tannins. Very thick, complex and persistent on the palate. Still incredibly youthful and fresh at 9 years of age. This extraordinary California Pinot Noir was truly a "thrill a sip" wine that could score even higher with another year or two of bottle age.

December 6, 2015 - Past it's prime... muddled, stewed and hot. Maybe a bad bottle and will try the remaining one tonight. Perfectly stored since release, but not drinking well. We dumped it down the sink after a couple of hours of hoping something would changed.
