Nose: full intensity; complex mix of red berries and cherries; earthy
Body/flavor: full body. Terrific complex mix of dark fruits, especially cherries; smoky; smooth tannins; little to no alcohol
Aftertaste: lingering
November 25, 2021 - Woody nose with cranberry, wood and leather in the palate. Fairly impactful tannin and acid components. Drink any time.
October 18, 2021 - Châteauneuf-du-Pape requires a decade and patience is rewarded here !!
I tasted this wine four years ago and it was very tight. This bottle had a perfect cork after over a decade in the bottle. I consumed over two days, the fruit was more predominant on the first day. This balances CDP had softened considerably with extraordinary depth and integrated complexity on day two. Deep dark ruby color with no oxidation, clarity medium. Aromas of black cherry with a hint of licorice. Flavors of fig, blackberry, and leather with a medium to long finish. A very balanced flavorful Grenache based CDP. This is an age worthy wine with more years of life left, unfortunately this was my last bottle of this vintage. Great fruit and a great winemaking effort from Xavier Vignon. A CDP that delivers if you can wait.
December 31, 2020 - Good quality but perhaps a little anonymous
December 1, 2020 - A ripe and modern cdp with big ripe fruit and substantial extract. Raspberry cocoa nibs and stewed plums. Red cherry and some barnyard. Very ripe palate lacking the freshness of good acidity. Hot.
November 26, 2020 - Nice drinking. Went well with Thanksgiving mix. Good balance and texture with nice overall flavors. CdeP profile makes for complexity on tongue. Enjoyable now.

January 23, 2020 - Nicely balanced, but lacking a little zest and interest. Medium bodied with soft raspberry and berry fruit.
January 11, 2020 - Nicely balanced with 10 years in the bottle. Earthy, some spice and big black fruit with a nice medium length finish
