May 10, 2017 - A great example of just how good Cotes du Rhone wines can be: restrained with plenty of Grenache fruit in evidence, a firm backbone and lovely balance. A great food wine that is ready to go now but may get better in upcoming years.
September 18, 2015 - Red raspberries and sour cherry. Really nice, if not crazy complex
August 12, 2014 - Ripe red fruits, great acidity. Medium tannins.
I would love to try this wine with some age on it.
May 14, 2013 - Really good,, mix some floral/herbs, lots of dark fruits, nice acidity and firm tannins give these a good shape. A big wine but not heavy or hot. Quite open now but needs food to show best. Should be great for a number of years.
April 3, 2013 - Tasty stuff. 100% syrah. Very vibrant. . But I think I like the Cullieron better for its smoothness and richness.
March 21, 2013 - I hear Texier no longer makes this, a shame as this is a nice addition to his lineup of wines. Grippy blueberries and violets.
January 24, 2013 - Day one - spiky acidity, rather disjointed. Day two - it had calmed down, but there was not a lot of fruit / enjoyment, and the tannins at the end were a little rough. Day three - drinking better, but still with drying tannins and lack of fruit.
Texier's wines confuse me. I'm going to buy one more bottle and stash for a few years, just to see.
December 28, 2012 - Very good. Took a little bit of time to open up. Very fresh and elegant with lots of violet.
Racy, sappy. Dark berry with some red fruits lurking in the background. A hint of licorice. Just the right amount of tannins on the finish to give a nice grip. I was surprised to see this is mainly grenache as this is quite syrah like to me.
A really good cdR village. Merci Eric !
September 24, 2012 - Very pronouced violet perfume. Lively on the palate, more tense then most CdR. My style, but not everyone's style. Ok at $18.
August 7, 2012 - With more flesh then the rest of the Texier skus at this level.
