August 2, 2016 - Still a bit young. A bit of oak and berry on the nose. Barnyard and some bramble berry on the palate.

July 8, 2016 - Friends at the House: This was a clear winner when tasted alongside a 2012 Talley Rosemary's Pinot and a 2012 Eric Kent Sascha Marie Pinot. Served with a cheese and charcuterie plate.

Baking spice, cola, and dark, earthy red berry and black cherry flavors jumped out on initial PnP. After a number of hours of slow O2, plus some vigorous swirling in the glass, the medley of flavors draped across the palate even more beautifully. I've admittedly been on a bit of a KB bash session with a lot of their recent 2012 and 2013 bottlings failing to cut the mustard. But this 2010 Gap's Crown made me feel both happy and sad. It was a beautiful, deeply pitched wine, but it reminded me that 2010 was the last of the great KB vintages (in my humble opinion) to deliver the quality that I had expected from this winery.

In the end, this was a 94-95 point wine, delivering at its best around the third hour of slow O2. This certainly has some life left in it; drink now and over the next two+ years.

May 29, 2016 - PnP wih notes of wild red berry, cola, cinnamon, and some spice. A little hot initially on the back end, which subsided after about 30 minutes.

A total of three hours in the decanter at 54 degrees. The fruit deepened a bit more to reveal some darker black cherry, baking spice, and earth notes. Just a tad hollow and thin mid-palate, but not to the extent that it caused the overall effect to be underwhelming. Medium-bodied and quasi-complex, though I don't see this going too much further with age. Likely drinking about as close to its optimum drinking window as it will ultimately achieve.

Drink now with a quick decant; drink over the next couple of years max. 93 solid points. No more, no less. One of the better KB Pinots out there; I wish they made them like this now.

March 12, 2016 - Wonderful Sonoma Pinot. We held back a few 2010 Kosta Browne Pinots, and after drinking a number of lesser 2011s over the past few months, we opened this one with a dinner of Coq au Vin. This exhibits the outstanding balance, great fruit, and long finish that we love from K.B. Pinots. Excellent now, but I suspect plenty of time left.

January 18, 2016 - Very nice , but I don't think I'll be buying this again. While it is certainly good enough, it is not worth it's price point.
