September 18, 2016 - As jonahfactor said, a curiousity. Used to the Cedarman being more of a brooder, but this is zingy like putting your tongue on the top of a 9-volt. Even weirder because the nose is of graham cracker and coffee grounds, so you don't expect it. Plum, raspberry, licorice, mocha flavors, more as expected, but the acid (and probably a little heat) ends up leaving you high and dry. 89 but at least a couple points higher if it integrates someday.

August 23, 2016 - Initially thin, a bit bitter, tannic despite decant for an hour. After about 3 hours, opened up into a much more full wine early and mid-taste, but still a bit astringent on the finish

August 8, 2016 - Still has a lot of tannins; smooths after 30 minutes; good depth and complexity with dark red fruit; modest finish

December 23, 2015 - More spice at the start but smooths quickly; full flavored dark red fruit with moderate depth; moderate finish; I think it still has cellar-life.

December 17, 2015 - Splash-decanted and serially tasted over 2-3 hours, this wine proves itself to be a "bruiser" that is packed with black fruit... but even more so with edgy tannins. Bramble fruits, anise, crushed rocks and dried herbs reside in a full-bodied, fresh frame. Solid in the middle, it concludes with an astringent finish which includes a whiff of heat from the 15.6% alcohol. Enjoyable for what it is, I nonetheless find this wine to be disjointed and not worthy of extended cellaring. Drink now-2016.
