  August 29, 2017 - Impressive balance at 20yr of age. While the nose was stunning - intensely floral and laced with minerals, it was the mid-palate and finish that set this wine apart. Last two minutes plus and left you wanting more.

  April 22, 2017 - This was singing, nearly at 93 CP level earlier this week. Intoxicating floral, earth aromatics. Super rich palate. Persistent.

Started off quite firm on the nose and palate and needed some serious air to help it open up. Powerful red and black cherry with fantastic spice and earth notes. The same fruit profile on the palate with a great concentration of fruit and a lot of remaining structure. Great texture all throughout. Very densely packed with a long finish. Fantastic balance to the wine and very youthful.

  July 12, 2012 - Another Final Dinner at Charlie Trotter's with "Guests" Henri Jayer, Meo-Camuzet and Rouget (Charlie Trotter's - Chicago IL): Open 30-45 minutes before serving, also not decanted. Served alongside the Rouget 1989 and 2000 vintages of Cros Parantoux, which are paradoxically what I'd consider the "successor" wines to Henri Jayer's legendary Cros Parantoux. Ripe black and red cherry aromas with a spicy, dense, meaty character. Very long and powerful with great structure, noteworthy acidity for a 1997, also great power and balance for the vintage. Great spice re-emerges on long finish.

  July 12, 2012 - Charlie Trotter's Goodbye with Jayer, Meo, and Rouget: Rich dusty sour cherry nose, shows lots of complexity. Sweet fruits, earth, and many nuances.
  Dark ripe dusty quality to flavors with slightly tight edge. Nice acid structure and freat red fruits. Good integration and shows classic old Burgundy length. Gives great pleasure and yet seems to still have long life left. Wish I could tru this again in 10 yrs, but doubtful.
