Community Tasting Notes 5

December 30, 2022 - Really excellent at this point, such balance, very elegant and very complex. Old school chianti classico riserva, still has energy for further aging, up to 5 years. But no need to wait.

November 25, 2017 - Consistent notes, see previous review. Not an easy wine. Complex and elegant but high acidity which Im sure many won't like. Difficult vintage Im sure. Will try not to touch the remaining two bottles, has all the right elements to develop into something obscure and divine - or completely undrinkable - in 5 years.

July 7, 2017 - Elegant and so well balanced, medium body, very typical of chianti. Oak hardly visible. Fresh and juicy as it was born yesterday. Window still at least 5 years.. 91-93. RP 92

May 15, 2013 - Brilliant ruby red that really grabs the light. Black pepper, light vanilla, and red fruits on the nose. This is a delicious wine with a lovely balance of acids and tannins. Black pepper, red fruits, notable vanilla, a bit of tar-like coffee, the latter note which is especially notable in the finish, which is strong and lingers quite a while. This is a very good wine that should evolve at least another 6-8 years and drink well for another dozen at least.

September 9, 2012 - This chianti is drinking well right now. Classic crimson coloring. Transparent edges. The nose is understated with hints of Tuscan minerality and sour cherries. The mouth feel is full with balanced acidity and round velvety tannins that are the best feature of this wine. 5+12+16+8=91
