April 9, 2024 - I recently acquired a case of this wine from perfect storage conditions, and while this was my first bottle, I can’t help but notice how perfectly in balance this wine is—tertiary notes accompanied by still present primary fruit. Unnoticeable alcohol and integrated, velvety tannins. The wine is what it is, but at the moment, it is firing on all cylinders and is an outstanding value. No reason to rush. No hurry.

January 31, 2024 - I definitely enjoyed drinking this wine, and so did most of the people in my group. It had a wonderful nose and it had a huge degree of depth, the only issue I had is that it didn't have a lot of complexity. The flavor profile was relatively monolithic, with alot of cigar leaf, pipe tobacco, funk and earthy flavors, such as old barnyard hay. Pleasant earthy funk. It's a good wine, but not quite as good as I was hoping. I have one more bottle, that's probably enough.

August 27, 2023 - From a mag this is a beautiful 93 and so Bordeaux in profile. A killer Chianti, full of darker fruit with whiffs of jasmine and a nice long truffled finish. Love it. Drink

February 25, 2023 - Pretty musty at first but really opened up after an hour or so in the decanter....lots of dark fruit and even a bit raisiny on the nose, dark sweet fruit with good concentration and length on the palate.

November 4, 2022 - Clearly aged with a fine mahogany color. Still opaque at the core. Dark fruit dominates the nose - plums and blueberries - but with an aged hint giving tones reminiscent of prunes and dried fruit. Lots of sweet pipe tobacco and hints of tar and etheric oils (reminds me of furniture polish, but in a noble version) lingers at the back. A whiff of alcohol becomes detectable as the wine warms up. Full bodied, sweet attack on the palate. Then the tannins and acidity (and alcohol) kicks in and cleans the mouth of the sweet, prune-like fruit. The finish is sweet, but well balanced from tannins and acidity. The alcohol becomes more detectable in the aftertaste. Long, highly concentrated. This is probably just past its peak, giving to much room for the quite high alcohol, but it is still impressive for a Chianti at 13 years of age. Very good with food, drink it now with good pizzas or pastas with good oil.

July 30, 2022 - Semble étouffe. Manque de caractère ! Espérant que mes prochaines bouteilles seront mieux.
