June 18, 2022 - In addition to two Chateau Lafitte, one of the top three wines I've ever tasted. Thick layer of sediment in bottle and cloudy in the glass. Beautiful garnet color. Distinctly fruity nose (raisins?), reminding one of a fine Port. So bursting with jammy fruit that it almost tastes sweet. Tannins are just a nice frame. Zesty, lingering finish. A complete joy.

June 19, 2020 - Drinking well. Flavors have well mixed, mild rusting to fruitiness, dry, balanced. My bottle certainly did not have of the sweetness commented by a couple of other CTers. Great wine.

December 5, 2019 - Big black fruit still in the bottle. Next time I will use a finer strainer for the dusty sediment. Tons of fresh blackberries, blueberries, leather, and vanilla.

September 17, 2019 - I've been sitting on this bottle for close to two decades (for no good reason, mind you). My last of three bottles. Shared it with @Chateau de Farmer. I was expecting it to be vinegar and absolutely undrinkable, and was pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

Similar tasting notes as @41HIJINX -- Deep garnet color with noticeable browning at the edge. Inside of bottle coated with a sticky layer of sediment. Tasted more like a port than a zin -- extremely sweet, but not syrupy. Notes of raisin and dried prunes. Tannins are velvety and hardly noticeable. Well past its peak, but still interesting to try and very drinkable. More of a dessert wine now though.

November 18, 2018 - Low neck fill. "..a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Carignane." Deep garnet color in glass with faint browning. Tons of ripe fruit on palate which balances the 15.1% alcohol. Inside of bottle coated with sludge! Absolutely at peak.

March 27, 2010 - Still a good bottle of wine but losing it's balance a bit over time. It seems to be too jammy and nearly sweet for my palate. If this is your thing, the wine might be right for you. Flavors of black, and red raspberries in abundance. Not much tannin to get in the way and no significant minerality to speak of. Slight hint of wood.

July 5, 2007 - Wow, this is one jammy wine! I'm not a big fan of jammy wines unless they have lots of structure and this one has pretty good structure so I enjoyed it - with BBQ fare. Definitely a food wine. I'm glad I waited 10 years to drink this bottle as it would have likely been intolerably jammy as a new wine.

May 20, 2007 - Dark maroon to brown with fresh dark fruit and leather on the nose. Rich, sweet with port-like fruit. Hot finish. Not my cup of tea.
