December 24, 2012 - Blind Tasting - Chardonnays; 12/24/2012-12/29/2012: Light gold. Pears, golden apple and a hint of lime on the nose. Creamy mouthfeel, showing rich texture and generous flavors of yellow and green apples. Toast, hazelnut and butter flavors add complexity but remain secondary. This shows a lot of intensity and depth.

November 16, 2012 - This serves up pretty aromas of poached pears, tropical fruits, citrus zest as well as some smoky minerals and warm buttery oak. Crisp and bright on the palate with a beautiful sleek texture backed by a nice touch of acidity which leaves your mouth watering. The grapes come from 50% Yamhill-Carlton, 50% Chehalem Mountains and were in 100% French Oak of which 24% was new for 16 months sur lies. Only 166 Cases produced so if you come across this it is worthy of your attention. (Best 2012-2017)

August 30, 2012 - Tasted non-blind from a chilled bottle, with and w/o food over 3hours, this is a very tasty example of just how good Oregon chardonnay can get. More Burgundian than the still too many fat and/or overoaked California examples, this is something of a cross between a well endowed Chablis and a Corton-Charlemagne. Pale straw/lemon in color, the nose has some lemon/melon followed by a focused palate of refined flavors that gets better with each sip. Starts out bright, tight and crisp and eventually develops into a fine and rich reward of barely noticable spice, fruit and fine acidity. Nice mouth feel. This will definately get better and more rewarding over the next 2-5yrs but can be enjoyed now with some decanting to let it open up and show its stuff. Made by the former winemaker at Domaine Serene.
