February 13, 2024 - Dark garnet-black in color that doesn't really show its age. Displays cassis, blackberry, tobacco and mint, long finish and plenty of runway ahead if you enjoy tertiary development (I do). Should have a fine run thru 2030 or beyond.

    November 24, 2023 - Last of 6 bottles.

Dark black/red color - looks younger than a 15+ year old wine. On nose, cigar box, red currants, tobacco and strawberry. On palate, cassis, cherry, dried cherry and herbal notes. Medium body, elegant tannins and medium+ acidity with a very long finish. Has aged beautifully. 93+/-

December 4, 2022 - Very light and subtle construction presents a welcome contrast to big oak and high alcohol cabs.

    September 19, 2022 - I paid $36.00 a bottle for this in 2012 - should have bought cases!

Notes from PNP and paired great with grilled Beef filet. Dark red color, not really showing age. On nose, currants, black cherry, tobacco, touch of charred oak and green pepper. Palate had similar flavor and fruit is beautiful with no oxidation. Medium body, medium+ acidity, medium tannins and very long finish. 93-94+ range.

April 15, 2022 - 13.5% abv. Dark ruby, extremely aromatic. On the palate, cassis, olive, leather, graphite. Excellent depth and length. The fruit is holding while the secondary flavors begin to assert. Great balance, complexity and focus. At a brilliant peak right now. You could hold further, but this is tremendous now.

October 31, 2021 - Took to Coalition in Excelsior tonight. Our first time there & loved the eclectic menu & cozy room! This paired well with a few hearty dishes. Just, another great btl of the '07 Mt Eden Estate Cab! One left that I won't touch before 2027.

February 10, 2021 - Stunning wine with an acidity to further improve. This wine is not in decline but rather entering a new phase in its development. Enormous bouquet of Welchs grape juice dominating the profile aromatically.

In mouth the wine is thinner and less viscous than expected but not in a bad way. In mouth there is cranberry, slightly rotted strawberry, blackberry and perhaps even slightly rotted cherries. An acidic driven profile flavor through the mid palette with vivid & bright fruits combined with sweet blackberry fruits that make me want to come back for more. Though seemingly unbalanced..... the wine is lovely. Yes it has an edge of acidity that can be a little overly present, but it’s presence still allows the fruit to come forward and be revealed.

December 23, 2020 - From what I'd seen this wine would age for a long time, but from drinking it now I think it may be past its prime

November 29, 2020 - Mount Eden's 2007 is an elegant Cabernet sauvignon with understated cassis, woodsmoke, and cedar. Plush texture; killer acidity; small, grippy tannins. Dark, sauvage fruit builds on the palate, building great density on the midpalate, and then shows excellent persistence on the finish. Very good.

September 20, 2020 - Opened, but did not decant 1 hour before dinner (grilled NY strips) - did not degrade overnight either.

I loved this wine. Dark black/red color - looked younger than an '07. Black cherry, currants, tobacco and wet earth on nose. On palate, similar flavor profile plus black tea and blackberry (and I swear I noted some orange undertones as well - almost Brunello like). Medium+ body, medium acidity, integrated tannins and long finish. What stuck out about this wine was the balance - like a fine Bordeaux from a warm year. Should easily age another 5+ years. Need to buy more recent vintages from this producer. 93-94.
