October 7, 2014 - This is as sure a bet as I've found in merlot, and this year is no different. Wonderfully rich and full, with a smooth first sip and a long finish. Pop and pour, got better though after 30.

September 26, 2014 - Just what you're hoping for from a Shafer/Napa Merlot. Big ripe fruit that lingers. Love the mouth feel

April 12, 2014 - I let this decant for 2-3 hours prior to taking it to the restaurant and it was beautiful. Smooth, lush, balanced fruit with acidity. Had with a filet and it was perfect.

March 30, 2014 - Deep, vibrant, dark cherry, fresh mint and ripe plums, and soft, velvety chocolate on the nose. The sweetness of the rich, dark fruits meld together with the soft ripe tannin to create a ripe and chewy-textured body and seamlessly well integrated alcohol to top it off. Long, lingering cassis note. This has a good, long life ahead of it. ****1/2
