May 4, 2023 - Rare to come across aged Sauvignon Blanc, especially with 20 years of age. This 2002 Silex is complex and vibrant, bright acidity and plenty of fruits left for a 20 year old. One notable aroma with aged Sauvignon Blanc is a waxy/ plastic note. Waxy yellow orchard fruits, white flowers, smokey wood spices (Jean-Claude toned down the new oak to 25% in 2002). While it’s lovely to drink them mature, I don’t see how it improves with further ageing. (91/100)

May 14, 2021 - wow. like no other Silex just powerful and expressive. and immense wine with a lengthy finish. wow!

January 18, 2021 - Bouquet like Rav Les Clos of the same vintage, ie white flowers, lemon-lime and just a hint of gingerale. Well-made wine, probably not at maturity yet. Full of energy, mid-palate grip and no hint of secondary but all elements in harmony and smooth on the tongue. Finishes long.

June 9, 2020 - Three hours in decanter. With the beautiful golden color in the glass the overwhelming ripe fruit in the nose comes back in the mouth. A round, ripe wine, sufficient acidic background, and a long finish.

June 7, 2020 - A dinner at Loek and Saskia; 6/7/2020-6/15/2020 (Amsterdam): Fantastic and with a semillon/sauvignon like bouquet, subtle lemon, a whiff of lychee and of melon. You find these elements also in the taste. The aftertaste stays in the mouth; no silex (for me), but who cares, drink this voluptuous wine now.
