May 20, 2022 - Friday Night Brown Bagger (R&R's): Double blind. Deep ruby/purple color with a charming bouquet of iron, cherry and sous bois. Raspberry and cherry fruit on the palate with an herbaceous quality as well. The fruit is ripe and sweet meant in the best possible sense. Nice complexity and depth. Absolutely delightful. (J&J)

May 20, 2022 - Double decanted 90 minutes before service. Ageing clear purple color that can only be Gamay. Spicy nose. Raspberries popping out on the palate that just keeps coming. Drinking extremely well right now, but plenty of life left. One bottle left in the cellar. When to open next? Hmmm....

December 6, 2018 - Dinner at Etto: Tasted blind. No one from the group guessed Beaujolais. Ah well. Spicy pepper, sage, earth, soy on the nose, lots of leather and earth and some sour cherries. Grippy still, high acidity, with bright cherries laced in pepper, smoke, tar, spice, leather. Still quite young and capable of more development in the cellar.

March 19, 2017 - Opened and decanted right before service. The nose showed violets to me. The palate is spicy with some great acidity and tannic structure, with raspberries starting to come out. The wine is still very tight and young, so give it some air time. Years of good drinking remaining.

March 22, 2014 - Tannic, big, and totally closed down. Great potential, but a Beaujolais monster right now. Would be unfair to rate
