March 4, 2016 - La Paulée de San Francisco - The Verticals (The Fairmont - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Lighter and brighter vs 2012 with lots of orchard fruit throughout, some lemon on finish. I'd consider this a very good medium-term wine for now through 2022 or so.

March 4, 2016 - The Verticals Tasting at La Paulée 2016 (The Fairmont, San Francisco): Pale greenish tint. Lime. Medium weight. Brighter citrus and more mineral than the 2012 with much less cumbersome wood. Surprisingly, I preferred this to the 2 other vintages. Very good.

December 31, 2015 - Initially somewhat tight but opened slowly with air. Focused minerals and a bit of chalk with tight lemon rind and citrus blossoms. Very nice now (with air!), but will no doubt improve.

December 23, 2015 - Piercing minerals and lemon acidity. Very focused, but also weighty. I can imagine this would really flesh out with some age, but don't feel like taking that much of a risk. Decanter time is helpful now.

November 30, 2015 - Has a nettle greenness that I see in quite a few '11's. There are aromas of citrus blossom, flint, mint and aniseed as well. It is direct, compact, linear and razor sharp. A sheath of glycerol protects the gums and it finishes clean and fresh.
