August 1, 2016 - Accessed this bottle approx. eighty-five days ago with a Coravin. Delicious red and black fruit from the Grenache and Syrah respectively with some nice spice notes on the finish. My rating is based on the initial tasting. I opened the bottle today to finish it off to find that the wine had changed pretty drastically. The fruit that had been so present before was gone leaving some earth, and spice and finished with bitter notes that were less than pleasant. Obviously the Coravin had not preserved the wine all that well. It hadn't completely come apart but it was definitely on a downward slide. My results with Coravin have been somewhat mixed with results ranging from no change over eight to ten months after accessing to noticeable change after as little as two to three months. My feeling is that the Coravin should only be used for a couple of month extension just to be safe.

August 1, 2016 - A super strong and dark wine. 4 hour decant. Dark fruit and wood on the nose. An element of spice as well. I was not in love with the finish. Looking forward to trying again in a few years.

July 22, 2016 - Black cherry and blackberry fruit with licorice, tar, and tobacco notes. Firm tannins and long finish, great wine!

June 22, 2016 - The Torrington Syrah base wines just rock after a sufficiently long rest in the cellar. This one is no exception. Depth, precision of flavors, bouquet, and mouth-feel are all just right. Smells and tastes of rich dark red and black fruit with some spice in the background.
