November 15, 2014 - Nuts and nougat and by now well integrated. A rather complex champagne, and not for the beginner, I do not think.
My fifth time drinking this vintage and I always found it very good, however there has never been a wow! feeling. Not quite top notch.

October 31, 2014 - This stood out from the other champagnes - very fresh but also seems pinoty, with lime and white cherry fruit and an herbal note that reminds me of underripe pinot. Super high acid, super concentrated. Extracted and tongue-smacking. Long. Not super enjoyable right now.

October 30, 2014 - Full bodied. Rich butterscotch, apple, pear flavors. Dry finish. Drinking nicely now, but has many more years ahead.

October 30, 2014 - Champagne Dinner (L'Apicio): A huge, broad, powerful champagne, more pinoty than the others with some red berry flavors to go along with the more famiilar apple/pear notes, and quite a bit of spice. The richness and density works nicely with the big 04 acid, and this was the only champagne in the lineup where I noticed significant dry extract. Excellent, even if I slightly preferred the 04 DP in style, and needs time.

October 29, 2014 - Champagne dinner (L'Apicio, NYC.): Drokk! Look ... this is a big Champagne. The austerity and acidity of the 04's have combined with the Bolly house style to create a monster. Nose of eau-de-vie, huge lemon, pear, nutty, spicy. Wait, this smells like Madeira. WTF? Huge. Spicy, brown, broad, lemon, spice-ginger, big. Lemon spice finish. This is good, but I prefer the 2002 overall. I'm not sure how to rate this. How do you rate the Hulk?
