  August 17, 2023 - The aromatics explode out of the bottle once the cork is drawn. A sultry nose of baking spices, violets, red and blue fruits, sous bois. Medium-bodied, the midpalate is still tightly wound and intense, red and blue fruits again, earth, minerally, evolving with wonderful layers, with firm 2008 tannins (dry, slightly raspy, and still packing a punch) and a firm acid spine that is appropriate for the intensity of the wine. Splendid. Hold on any remaining bottles for further tertiary development.

  February 5, 2018 - During walkabout tasting and Paulee dinner, so only brief impressions. Very structured and astringent, closed. Good but will it ever be great like its sublime neighbor? Probably not.

  March 7, 2015 - A private dinner (Restaurant Pastorale **, Reet, Belgium): Astounding nose, deep and rich, roses and warm Asian spices, jasmin, stalks, pure and mineral, tight and fresh; the masculine palate is powerful and mouth-staining, very structured, with rich blue fruit, really grippy tannins and wonderful mineral freshness, orange lift; excellent length. A score of 95 potentially, but wait for 10 years.
