December 1, 2023 - Decanted briefly. Simply gorgeous with steely, charred earth and lovely cassis. Probably the world's best second wine.

February 23, 2023 - Premiere Napa Valley; 2/22/2023-3/25/2023 (Napa, California): Tasting Library vintages at PNV 2023. Very brief tasting notes around.

Dark fruit, big broad and muscular with chewy tannins, struggled with this wine more than I hoped for.

January 19, 2023 - My first experience with this wine. Very expressive, refined and layered on the nose and palate. Not what I was expecting. A complex and well lauered nose of forest fruit, loamy mineral, wet clay and forest. Palate showing spices box and milky berry fruit. Really well integrated and refined.

December 3, 2022 - Very good but super ripe. Loads of blue fruit with minimal acidity or tannin. Drinking great now.

September 5, 2022 - A terrific choice with grilled lamb. Very attractive fruit, mineral and spice package held together with rounded tannins. Sorry to finish the 10's but a tasty experience.

April 15, 2022 - A friend brought this over along with a 1994 Ferrari Carano Cab from Sonoma. At PNP the 2010 Maiden has plenty of enjoyment to offer.

Dark cassis that is balanced and layered. In a great window to pull from the cellar but should continue to lay down well.

March 14, 2022 - This ripe and layered Cabernet is drinking well right now, with a fulsome and spicy profile that is more generous than precise. Dark red in color; full in body; aromas of blackberry, fruit cake, baking spices, and ground pepper. The flavors are more settled, with notes of mulberry, cocoa powder, and gravel, with a tannic and round finish. This lacks the energy of the 2008 or 2012 Maiden, but tonight it was more balanced and integrated than a 2010 VHR. Drink in next few years. 14.5% alcohol.
