December 13, 2014 - This bottle was incredibly wound up and tight. Might even have been in a dumb phase. Or maybe just not long enough of a decant. We poured in decanter and served immediately. Not much flavor poking through at first. Towards the end I saw just a hint of what this wine could be with some more time. There was a peppery background, some red fruit. Will hold last bottle and be sure to do a much longer decant.

November 12, 2014 - Decanted 2 hours. Very smooth and elegant. Defently the best Alion i have ever tried. And i think it will only improve over the next years.

October 17, 2014 - (Tasted at Berry's Spain 2014): Rich and dense, but not in the stewed fruit way. This has dense aromas in the red cherry, summer flowers and vanilla spectrum. A touch of smoke. Tanins are sweet and imperceptible and give a very well crafted structure. Acidity is high/fresh; not tart. Excellent.

October 3, 2014 - Red Spain (Riga): Some pleasant barnyard on the nose as well as eucalyptus, spices, tobacco. Superb mouth feel, silky, some vanilla sweetness. Classic feel of Franch wine, which I would say if tasted it blind. Complex and polished. Loved it. (A)
