March 18, 2013 - A tale of two wines here. Upon opening this showed overly sweet confected fruit, candied lavender, somewhat obnoxious vanilla oak notes, and a distinct medicinal leaning. After drinking a small glass, threw the remainder into the vacuum bar and revisited 48 hours later, with much different results. The fruit had lost much of its candied edge, the vanilla oak calmed, and the wine integrated beautifully. Varietally accurate and delicious this ultimately impressed and paired perfectly with grilled salmon. Fairly awful day one, outstanding day three. Patience required.
