December 19, 2022 - While this wine has continued to improve with age, it still feels slightly unripe and lacking in depth on the palate. The nose is really beautiful, though, with a zesty hit of mint, quinine, and chamomile.
March 19, 2018 - This bottle is showing a little more body than others I’ve tried in the last year although it is still a bit hollow in the middle. I can finally see some reason to hope that this can become good and that the recent disappointing showings were simply indicative of a shut-down wine. Although the color is still quite light there are glimmers of age and some lightly caramelized flavors which may balance the slim and acidic frame with time.
September 22, 2017 - Another very flat bottle of this wine...not suffering from oxidation at all but just lifeless. No body, depth of flavor, or even acidity to speak of...it's almost like barely carbonated soda water. Also opened a bottle of the 2011 Zeppwingert from the same producer...this was a different story and very much drinkable if falling short of its reputation.
February 25, 2017 - O2 breach due to leaky cork seal.

October 31, 2015 - Starting to become interesting with some lactic richness - first time this wine has really shown what it is about. Very dry with high acidity. These wines really don't show well young...lack the depth and sweetness that you'd get from a Donnhoff or Schaefer kabinett so they seem austere on release. This seems to be aging like a Trimbach or Weinbach Riesling and should be very nice in five years.
November 9, 2014 - Super dry and lean. Great mineral nose. Could use a hair more fruit on the palate.
March 15, 2014 - Louis/Dressner Tasting with all the Winemakers (E&R, Portland, OR): No pradikat wines here, but this is somewhere between Spatlese and Auslese in must weight. It's their second wine below the grand cru, and has around 4 g/l RS. Very strong stony minerality notes on the nose. Invigorating lemon. Great purity of aromas. Fantastic. Thick body, but pretty lean flavors offering not much richness and pretty light acid. Really mellow and slightly chunky metallic notes. Similar on the finish... considering how wonderful that nose was, this fell remarkably flat on the finish.
